Micom Laboratories Inc. is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for CAN/CGSB 44.232 testing.  Our experts sit on the technical committee who writes and maintains that standard.

The CAN/CGSB 44.232 standard is essentially composed of three major types of tests.  It calls up BIFMA X 5.1 for safety and durability testing.  It specifies ergonomic dimensional criteria that are measured using BIFMA cmd-1.  Finally, it also has some general requirements and it also has performance requirements for foam.  The foam requirements of CAN/CGSB 44.232 are in the standard’s body, but the foam testing needs to be done to ASTM D-3574.  Micom Laboratories Inc. can do all of the tests mentioned above.

Side chairs, also known as visitor chairs, need to be tested per GPD-6.
