Thermotron chamber services

Micom Laboratories Inc. offers Thermotron chamber test services. These chambers, also called climatic chambers, are widely used to test the behaviour and challenge the temperature and moisture resistance of a wide range of materials, assemblies and products to their shipping or working environment. Our Thermotron chambers can reach from -70o C to +150o C with a relative humidity range from 10 to 95 %. Our laboratory operates 5 Thermotron chambers ranging from a few cubic feet to chambers that can hold up 6 standard size pallets at the same time. All kinds of products have been tested in our Thermotron chambers; traffic lights, stadium artificial turf, electrical transformer, office furniture, vaccines, drugs, video-poker machines, construction materials and many others. In many of these cases, we had to do real time measurements while the units were under test. In other cases we had to do measurements before and after. Depending on your needs, while your products are in the chamber, we can do computer data acquisition to monitor your product's behaviour. We can also do mechanical and/or fatigue testing while in the chamber.

Thermotron chamber complementary test services

Many thermotron chamber test plans are related to product shipping and the shipping environment. There are many ISTA and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) test protocols to that effect and Micom laboratories can do all of these. These protocols give guidelines and suggested temperature cycles. They also note that preferably shippers should develop their own temperature profiles. They also combine the thermotron chamber tests with other road hazards such as vibrations, stack ability, impacts, drops. Micom Laboratories Inc. can do all these tests. Besides being on the Canadian General Standards Board Laboratory Acceptance Program, Micom Laboratory is also an ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) certified test laboratory. We are also recognized, by Transport Canada, as a laboratory for the Hazardous Materials Regulations.
