Electromechanical Technician
Baie d’Urfé (West of Montreal), Full-time
Micom Laboratory, a recognized specialist in physical and mechanical testing, is looking for a talented Electromechanical Technician to strengthen its team based in Baie-d’Urfé, west of Montreal. If you are passionate about mechanics, electricity, and problem-solving, you belong with us!

Micom Laboratories Inc. located in Baie-d’Urfé, is an independent ISO/IEC 17025 (2017) A2LA accredited laboratory specializing in product and material testing, with recognized expertise in the field of accelerated aging. For many years, our commitment has been to fully satisfy our customers by offering comprehensive testing services tailored to the complex needs of today’s market.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Within our laboratory, you will play a key role in conducting fatigue tests on various equipment, including for watercraft and snowmobiles. You will be responsible for:
- Mechanical design and assembly of test benches.
- Operation of actuators and specialized equipment.
- Instrumentation using sensors.
- Programming of data acquisition and control systems.
- Conducting tests, ensuring follow-up and quality of results.
- Fatigue testing of various recreational vehicle components.
- Participate in identifying and ordering components required for test bench assembly.
- Maintenance of laboratory and industrial equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
For this position, we’re looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Training in electromechanics or equivalent field.
- Skills in data acquisition and control.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity.
- Meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive attitude.
- Experience in a standardized environment (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.) is considered an asset.

Laboratory Assistant Technician
Baie d’Urfé (West of Montreal), Full-time
Micom Laboratories is a materials testing laboratory located in Baie-d’Urfé, in the west end of Montreal. We are currently looking for a Laboratory Assistant Technician to join our team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The full-time position involves performing tests on surface finishes, salt spray, and UV exposure on raw materials or finished products. More specifically, the tasks include:
- Receiving, identifying, and preparing samples.
- Measuring color and calibrating the colorimeter according to ASTM D2244.
- Measuring gloss and calibrating the gloss meter according to ASTM D523.
- Measuring hardness, weight, dimensions, and adhesion.
- Measuring pH and calibrating the pH meter.
- Operating and verifying a salt spray chamber in accordance with ASTM B117.
- Using a xenon arc apparatus according to ASTM G155.
- Monitoring laboratory temperature and humidity.
- Entering data into the database.
- Participating in audits as a test technician for laboratory accreditation.
QUALIFICATIONS
For this position, we’re looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- College diploma (DEC) in natural sciences, technical science, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French and English.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to multitask effectively, managing multiple samples simultaneously.
- Ability to manage one’s own schedule.
